These first two songs only show up on some fan-generated field recordings.
Mr. Zevon never officially recorded them.
That's not to say they won't eventually show up in a trunk somewhere,
but for now, we only have the field recordings.

Figurine was written shortly after the ponytail was cut off...

Well, the wrong kind of people don't want you to change
They just want you to stay the same
They want to keep you in between
So hold that pose like a figurine
Figurine
Don't it make you want to scream?
Don't you get it, yet?
They think of you as a statuette

And the wrong kind of people don't want you to change
They just want you to stay the same
They're gonna ask you 'Where you been?”
& make you wait, like a mannequin
They want to keep you high and dry
To furnish them with an alibi
They want to keep you in between
So hold that pose like a figurine
Figurine
Don't it make you want to scream?
Don't you get it, yet?
They think of you as a statuette

Well the wrong kind of people don't want you to change
They just want you to stay the same
They don't want you to be free
They just want you to watch TV

Who's the Tutsi?
Who's the Hutu?
Why'd you shoot Kabushemeye?
Wish you'd never left the rugo
What’chu doing in Bujumbura?

Life is fragile, we are frail
Here today and gone tomorrow
We don't want to end in jail
Been to hell in Bujumbura

Sans Echecs and Sans Defaite
Killing in the streets
Why don't no one stop it?
Why don't no one speak?

Mr. Bhoutrous-Bhoutrous Ghali,
Give us all some reassurance
Why don't all the nations rally
Bring the peace to Bujumbura

Sans Echecs and Sans Defaite
Killing in the streets
Why don't no one stop it?
Why don't no one speak?

Who's the Tutsi?
Who's the Hutu?
Why'd you shoot Kabushemeye?
Wish you'd never left the rugo
Wha’tchu doing in Bujumbura?
...in Bujumbura
Wha’tchu doing in Bujumbura?

Warren Zevon recorded the following song as an early demo on an acetate; the song never made it to a bona fide WZ album. The song can be found on Hurry Home Early, performed by Simone Stevens and Jordan Zevon.

Oh, I had a dream of finding you
One water-colored morning by the bay
But the sky was full of seagulls
And the afternoon and evening slipped away
And I stayed to watch the boat lights sway
And I heard a voice beside me say
If you’re lonely, you can have a place to stay

Warm rain falling
Warm wind calling
Dry thoughts for a wine dark day
And the vapors ride the wind away

Through the rain-stained streets she led me
To a one room walk up by the by
And she took my clothes and told
they would take at least ‘til morning to get dry

When we wake up tomorrow you and I
There’ll be rainbows in the windows of the sky
But the clouds will be the color of goodbye

Warm rain falling
Warm wind calling
Dry thoughts for a wine dark day
And the vapors ride the wind away

When we wake up tomorrow you and I
There’ll be rainbows in the windows of the sky
But the clouds will be the color of goodbye

Warm rain falling
Warm wind calling
Dry thoughts for a wine dark day
And the vapors ride the wind away

Warm rain falling
Warm wind calling
Dry thoughts for a wine dark day
And the vapors ride the wind away

Warm rain falling
Warm wind calling
Dry thoughts for a wine dark day
And the vapors ride the wind away

There was a second song on the acetate - Songbird - but the quality is so poor, having deteriorated over the years, the lyrics are unintelligible, so it is not presented here.

According to All Music Guide, The Brothers were an obscure project of Warren Zevon during his early career, releasing one single in 1967 on White Whale, after the three singles he had done as half of the male-female duo Lyme & Cybelle. The single was unremarkable good-time pop/rock, although there are traces of wry wit in the lyrics, since Zevon wrote one side (“The Girl's Alright”) and Randy Newman the other (“Love Story”).

I know
If it ends
We’ll be friends
Her heart will mend
In time
She’ll be fine
With an understanding or two
Whatever we do

Wherever we go, I know
The girl’s alright
The girl’s alright
The girl’s alright
Wherever we go, I know
The girl’s alright

I know
If I leave
She’ll believe
In me forever
She won’t cry
She’s not the kind
She’s got everything in hand
She’ll find someone new

Whatever I do, I know that
The girl’s alright
The girl’s alright
The girl’s alright
Wherever I go I know
The girl’s alright

Though she cares about me
She can live without me
I’m not concerned
I’ve learned she’s strong
Though I’m far away
I know she’s ok - Hey

The girl’s alright
The girl’s alright
The girl’s alright
The girl’s alright
The girl’s alright

This one is in a category all by itself: The Way She Is, recorded by Everpresent Fullness

Steve Pugh of EPF had this to say: "Warren wrote The Way She Is specifically for us at our request, so it isn't a 'cover'. No other band ever recorded it to my knowledge and the cut on the Fine and Dandy CD is the original recording we did in 1966. It is incomplete, missing the instrumental lead in the break, because White Whale cut off spending on the album."

The lyrics are currently unavailable.
